Patient update

This morning, staff at Cleevelands Medical Practice were informed that there will be a power outage in the surgery’s post code area tomorrow, Thursday 7 May 2026, between 8am and 2pm.

Unfortunately, without power, it will not be possible to provide medical services at the site during these hours. Subject to power being restored, normal services will resume at 2pm. Phone lines will remain open throughout the day for booking same-day appointments.

If you have an appointment booked at the surgery on 7 May, you will be contacted by a member of the surgery team as appropriate.

We apologise for this inconvenience and for the short notice; this situation is beyond our control. Thank you for your patience.

Collective Action

The GP Partners at the surgery and other local practices are taking part in collective action with the BMA, because the pressures on general practice are becoming unsustainable. As part of this we are no longer able to offer appointments beyond nationally recommended safe working levels.

Once we reach our safe limit of appointments for the day, we will be unable to offer any further appointments. The only exception for this will be if it is an URGENT issue for a child under 16 or an urgent palliative care issue.
