I wanted to let everyone know that I’m leaving the practice at the end of July and retiring fully at the end of January when I will have worked 25 years as a GP and 32 years as a qualified doctor.
It has been a privilege to get to know my patients so well. Some I first met as bumps in their mothers’ tummies now have children of their own!
I’ve been part of the practice growing and changing in so many ways, and the move to our lovely new building has allowed us to expand our services and continue to improve the care we give.
Since March 2020 the world has changed and we have had to change with it. We have been working harder than ever and in new and different ways.
I will leave knowing the new younger partners are keen to keep the practice moving forwards and blossoming along with a fantastic administration team and nurses.
I’m sure I will miss our team and the patients I have come to know so well, but am looking forward to exploring my artistic endeavors, transforming my garden and spending time with my friends and family. I know I will continue to see many of you when I’m out and about with my dogs or around town and don’t be afraid to say hello!
With all best wishes,
Dr Jill Vernon-Smith.
